Prior to embarking on his law career, Mr. Goulart had nearly a career’s worth of experience in the business and construction industry. In business, Mr. Goulart owned and/or was involved with multiple companies involving real estate investment and management, lighting technology, alternative energy, wind energy, solar power and the development of projects throughout the state of Colorado. In the construction industry, Mr. Goulart has owned and operated a number of successful commercial and residential construction companies in Colorado and California. What sets Mr. Goulart apart from other attorneys in construction law is his ability to draw from past experience as a builder and CAD designer for his own company and a local architectural firm. Additionally, Mr. Goulart has served as a construction consultant for large construction companies across the United States, providing guidance and expertise in the areas of estimating, cost accounting, marketing, job procedures and business development.
In 1992, Donald T. Goulart received his law degree from the University of Colorado, School of Law and in 1993 Mr. Goulart was admitted to the Bar of the State of Colorado. In 1993, Mr. Goulart, along with his partner Judy LaBuda, founded the successful Boulder law firm of LaBuda and Goulart, LLC.
From 1993 until 2000, Mr. Goulart practiced construction, real estate, business law and general litigation with LaBuda & Goulart, LLC. In 2000, Mr. Goulart founded Goulart & Associates, P.C. as a law firm specializing in the fields of construction, real estate, business law and litigation with aspirations of providing clients with the highest caliber of expertise using his knowledge of construction and construction law in the setting of a small, personalized law firm that prides itself on providing unsurpassed personal attention to each client’s specific legal representation needs and business goals.
Mr. Goulart’s focus is on solving construction disputes. He has effectively represented hundreds of clients in dispute resolution settings. Mr. Goulart has acted as a mediator, arbitrator and has been appointed as a judge in past land condemnation cases. With his broad knowledge and background in business, real estate and construction law, Mr. Goulart strives to help clients resolve issues through whatever means necessary including negotiations, mediation, arbitration and litigation.
Mr. Goulart is an avid golfer and proficient pilot holding both VFR and IFR ratings. When he is not on the golf course or in the air, Mr. Goulart can often be found with a guitar in hand reminiscing his experience as a professional musician in years gone by.
